Darshan means “divine vision”. This is how you are looking at or in front of a deity, a saint, or a fully realized guru in a temple. The transcendent experience is that moment in which you see God and God sees you. Spiritual seekers often go on long pilgrimages to holy places to seek the blessings of gods, saints, or gurus.
God feeling means that you feel that God is with you or that he is present. When an impossible task is done and you experience a new power while doing it, that new energy is moving within you today, due to which that task has become possible. This energy power is called the experience of God. When some miracle happens in front of you, some of your prayers are answered, all this is an experience of God.
Philosophy has two different meanings. One is eye darshan i.e. seeing God with your eyes. This is not possible, because to see there must be an object and its shape, God is formless. In such a situation, we cannot call darshan an eye darshan.
Here philosophy means philosophical thinking. You should try to understand the nature of God from your subconscious mind and know that the soul and God are one. This unity is God. This is called seeing God.
What is Darshan?
Often considered a form of worship, it is an opportunity to achieve spiritual progress and fulfillment. Although many traditional Hindu rituals of worship involve long chanting of mantras, various rituals, specific meditations, etc. – darshan has very few expectations from the devotee. Simply seeing the divine soul with devotion is sufficient.
Philosophy is not a common term in Western countries. This word remains hidden in spiritual books, accidentally uttered by some yoga guru or sometimes you will hear it accidentally on the way. But for Hindus in India and around the world, it is a very valuable part of their spiritual life. Darshan has special benefits which are beyond our understanding. Dive deep into this subject, understand its beauty and significance, and learn how to receive this rare blessing from a God-like Guru.
We don’t need to understand the grace and blessings we have received. It is impossible to understand this gift and grace received from God.
How can we feel this?
No two philosophies are alike. Each one is a unique and sacred moment between you and God. Some experience inner changes, some experience a sense of well-being while others experience an overwhelming feeling of love and acceptance. Sometimes one does not feel anything. Everyone experiences something different and gets something different that is unique to them.
Regardless of your individual experience, one thing that remains common in every philosophy is the exchange of love. Whichever deity, saint, or guru you attain, he showers you with selfless divine love.
What happens during darshan?
In Hindu tradition, it is customary to bow to a deity, saint, or guru and show one’s reverence for them. Through eye contact, they see the devotee and the devotee also gets a glimpse of divinity.
Paramahansa Sri Vishwananda is a fully realized Satguru who regularly gives darshan to people who say about this inner feeling, “When you come for darshan I see your soul, At that time I see the beauty that is within you and you can also feel it as the mirror of your soul. This is called for so that you can reflect the light of God more and more.
How can you get darshan?
Darshan is available to all. Everyone is invited to participate without any discrimination of caste or religion. Anyone who wishes to receive this blessing can receive it in any temple in his home or in front of any idol (human incarnation of God) or picture. Saints and gurus often appear in different ways.
For example, Paramahamsa Shri Vishwananda also gives online darshan for you. Once everyone is online, Paramahansa Sri Vishwananda asks you to chant “Sri Vitthal Giridhari Parabrahmane Namah” while he also looks at all those present.
After seeing everyone he will ask you to meditate for a few minutes and see with your third eye. After that, you will open your eyes and look into their eyes. This is the moment when visions come, when you see and are seen, the moment when you are showered with selfless divine love.
People Who Have Seen God?
It is said that after the Mahabharata war, all the gods and goddesses went to their respective abodes. Only Hanumanji is left. At the beginning of Kaliyuga, gods and goddesses started being worshiped in the form of idols. Later people started making idols in place of this deity form or symbolic form. The idol form of God himself has appeared in many places like Jyotirlinga, Shaligram, etc.
It is believed that in Satyayuga, Treta, and Dwapar Yuga, on invoking any deity, they would immediately appear. If a person wants any precious thing or power from a deity, he can get it only by performing severe penance, just as Arjun performed severe penance for Lord Shiva in a cave to obtain Pashupatastra.
In Kaliyuga, neither mantras nor invocations work, neither weapons nor powers can be obtained by penance. It is said that in Kaliyuga, true words, devotion, and prayer are the only way to connect with God. Let us tell you about some such saints who saw God in this Kaliyuga…
Tulsidasji – Lord Hanuman and Lord Ram
Ramakrishna Paramhansa – Goddess Kali
Maharishi Aurobindo Ghosh – Lord Krishna
Meera – Lord Krishna
Samarth Ramdas – Lord Hanuman
Saint Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram – Shri Krishna

Baba Ramdevpir – Lord Dwarkadhish
