Who was King Daksh Prajapati?
King Daksha Prajapati was a majestic king. According to mythological beliefs, Lord Brahma had given birth to King Daksha in the form of Manas’s son. Daksh Prajapati was married to Askani. He was the supreme devotee of Lord Nayarana. King Daksha had 16 daughters. In which the name of the youngest daughter was Sati. Sati used to do severe penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband. King Daksh did not like this thing at all.
Why was King Daksh Irritated with Bhole Bhandari?
King Daksha used to get angry with whoever took the name of Lord Shiva in his kingdom. According to mythology, there are three reasons for the bitterness between King Daksha and Lord Shiva. According to a legend, initially, Brahma had five heads. The three heads of Brahma always recited the Vedas, but their two heads used to say good or bad to the Vedas. Lord Shiva always used to get angry with this habit, then one day getting angry with this, he cut off the fifth head of Brahmaji. Daksha Prajapati used to be angry with Lord Shiva for beheading his father Brahma.
First Reason
Daksh Prajapati married his 27 daughters to Chandradev. Rohini was the most beautiful among the 27 daughters of Daksha. This was the reason that Chandradev loved her more and the other 26 wives were neglected. When King Daksha came to know about this, he invited Chandradev and politely cautioned Chandradev against this unfair discrimination. Chandradev promised that he would not do such discrimination in the future.
But Chandradev continued his discriminatory behavior. What would Daksha’s daughters do, he again told his father sadly about this. This time Daksha decided to go to Chandralok and explain to Chandradev. Daksh Prajapati and Chandradev’s talk increased so much that in the end, getting angry, Daksha cursed Chandradev to be ugly.

Naradamuni asked Chandrama to pray to Lord Shiva to get rid of the curse. Moon did the same and Shiva freed him from the curse.

Lord Shiva not Getting up in Front of Daksha
According to popular legends, once a yagya was organized where all the gods and goddesses had reached. When King Prajapati arrived in this Yajna, all the gods and goddesses and other kings stood up and welcomed King Daksha. But Shivji kept sitting with Brahmaji. Seeing this, King Daksha took it as an insult and used many derogatory words towards Shiva. This is an important reason for the rift between the two. This was the reason why Shivji and his father-in-law Raja Daksh did not get along.
King Daksha did not Consider Lord Shiva worthy of Sati
According to another belief, Parvati ji was born in the form of Sati at the place of King Daksha. In the form of Sati, Mother Parvati wanted to marry Lord Shiva only, but Sati’s father King Daksha felt that Lord Shiva was not worthy of Sati. For this reason, when he had organized Swayamvar for Sati’s marriage in his kingdom, Shivji had not invited him.
However, Sati had accepted Lord Shiva as her husband in her mind and used to do severe penance to please Lord Shiva. Taking the name of Lord Shiva, Sati put garland on the earth in Swayamvar. Then Shiva himself appeared there and wore the garland thrown by Sati. After this, Shiva accepted Sati as his wife and left from there. King Daksha did not like the fact that Sati was married to Shiva against his wish.
