In Hinduism, donating is considered a very pious act. Donating not only brings blessings from God but also brings happiness, peace, and prosperity to the house. It is also said that donating to the temple benefits seven generations of a person. If we talk about donations or gifts, then idols of gods and goddesses or Ganesha’s idols are usually given. Be it a wedding, party, birthday, or any other program. But do you know whether one should gift idols of gods and goddesses to someone or not? Let’s know what Vastu Shastra says.
Once the pictures of Hindu deities are kept in worship for many days or years and puja (sanctity) is performed on them, they should be respected and kept properly. Over time it is natural to replace them with similar pictures or reduce their number due to lack of space etc.
Should God’s Idol Be Donated Or Not?
If a new temple is being built around you, then you can donate idols of gods and goddesses. By doing this you get God’s blessings. Along with this, you should also donate some part of your earnings for the construction of the temple. But God’s idol cannot be donated to any person. If we give someone a statue or picture of a deity as a gift or donation, it means that we are sending the deity away from our home. On the other hand, it is not auspicious to give silver coins on which pictures of gods and goddesses are made.
