Worshiping Lord Kuber on Dhanteras has special significance, as he is considered the god of wealth, prosperity, and property. Worshiping him on this day brings wealth and prosperity to the house. If you want to worship Lord Kuber, follow the following method:
Lord Kuber Puja Vidhi
Preparation for Kuber Puja
First of all, place a seat or chowki for worship in a clean place. Spread a white cloth on it. Place the picture or idol of Lord Kuber at the place of worship. You can also install Kuber Yantra.
Keep flowers, water, lamps, incense sticks, sandalwood, kumkum, roli, sweets, fruits, silver, gold coins, copper utensils, etc. as worship material. It is especially auspicious to donate gold, silver items, and metal (such as copper) to worship Kuber.
Lighting the lamp
Light a lamp at the place of worship (a ghee or oil lamp is best) and place it near the picture or idol of Lord Kuber. The lamp spreads positive energy in the house.
Ganesh Puja
Start the puja by worshipping Lord Ganesha. Since Ganesha is the destroyer of impediments and eliminates any sort of hindrances in the puja.
Chant the mantra of Ganesha “Om Gan Ganpataye Namah”(ॐ गं गणपतये नमः) and offer sweets, fruits, and flowers in front of him.
Kubera Puja
Now worship Lord Kubera. Keep a pot of water in front of his picture and put a copper coin or any other metal object in it. Chant this mantra 108 times. If possible, also install Kubera Yantra and worship it.
“Om Shreem Hleem Shreem Kuberaay Namah” (“ओम श्रीं ह्लीं श्रीं कुबेराय नमः”)
“Om Yakshaya Kuberaay Vaishravanaay Dhanadhanyaadipataye, Dhima Mavah Vanchitham Me Dehi Me Kubera Mahashay” (“ओम यक्षाय कुबेराय वैश्रवणाय धनधान्यधिपतये, धीम मावः वंचितं मे देहि मे कुबेर महाशय”)
Offering silver, gold, and coins
Offer gold, silver, or copper coins in the puja. You can also donate a copper vessel or a silver coin, which increases wealth. If you have a Kuber yantra, place it at the place of worship and offer white rice, fruits, sweets, and silver coins in front of it.
Worship of Kuber Yantra
If you have a Kuber yantra, place it at the place of worship and clean it. From that point onward, place it before Ruler Kuber and serenade the mantra. Worship the yantra by chanting the mantra Om Shreem Hleem Shreem Kuberay Namah.
Offering at the Feet of Kuber
You can also offer coins or leaves of Parad (chemically pure mercury) at the feet of Lord Kuber, which are considered to be a symbol of an increase in wealth.
Prasad and Blessings
After the puja, pray to Lord Kuber for wealth, prosperity, and peace. Offer fruits, sweets, and liquids to him. Then seek blessings at the feet of the Lord by chanting the mantra “Om Shreem Kuberay Namah”. Bless all the members of the house and distribute prasad.
Include symbols of wealth and property in the puja
During the puja, you can keep a gold or silver coin, copper vessel, or metal object in the house or keep it in the safe. This helps in attracting the arrival of wealth and prosperity.
Aarti and Bhajan
After the puja, recite the aarti of Lord Kuber, such as:
“Jai Shri Kuber, Sukhamriti ke Daata, Dhan ke Raja Kuber.” (“जय श्री कुबेर, सुखमृति के दाता, धन के राजा कुबेर।”)
If you wish, you can also sing Kuber bhajans or aarti of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth.
After the puja, place the lamp at every place in the house so that the flow of positive energy continues in the house. Give prasad to everyone and bless all the members of your family for wealth and prosperity.
Conclusion
Worshiping Lord Kuber properly on the day of Dhanteras increases wealth in the house, removes financial crises, and prosperity prevails. Chanting of correct mantras, installation of yantra, and donations, along with puja performed with sincerity and devotion brings immense benefits.
